Jeff and i went to dinner last night with 4 friends, and we had the BEST time!!! we drank, smoked, ate appetizers, drank, told funny stories on each other, ate dinner, laughed for 4 hours. i highly reccomend getting out of your own world on occasion, kicking off your shoes, let your hair down and have the time of your life. throw off all the hats-- mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, husband,wife,employee......act 21 again.........be a friend, laugh, sneak a kiss at the table, tell the waitress a joke. hug your friends, forget the responsibilities that wait at home for you. remember what you were like before you had them. it will do you a world of good, make you fall in love all over again, remind you that you are not a rock or an island, noone gets thru this life all on their own. we need each other. and life is so much better when you share a laugh. the responsibilities will all be waiting for you when you get home. trust me

2 of the grandkids were here delivering papa's girl scout cookies. so while nene was here i got her to hold still long enough to see how this dress is going to fit. i think it's a little long but mom said that was good she could wear it longer. nene loved it....she was petting it.lol.she is so funny. caden wants me to make him a wallet in white blue and green. that has me a little stumped. i haven't looked for a pattern yet but i doubt i will find one. i got a big hug and kiss from him today and that is not normal for caden. that really made my day. nene told me she was 3 when i asked how old she was.........she is 1, almost 2 but nowhere close to three....but she is convinced......lol...
she was born on norah's birthday (anothercroknitblog.blogspot.com)
. you would have thought she could have waited 10 days for mine..but noooooooooooooo. she's been a stinker from day 1...lol

my babies...........grandbabies. i have 8 of them. a collection really. always room for more. i want 10. i have 4 girls and 4 boys. the oldest was here today.she's 7. she NEEDED grandma to pick her up after school. so i did and we went to walmart. she NEEDED a few things for grandma's house. new crayons, pencils, eraser and sharpener for homework. a bottle of water and flaming hot cheetos.and 2 quarters for the junk machine. i figured i got off pretty cheap this time....lol. she did her homework here as soon as we got home. i'm not sure where she got her brains but she is really smart. colored until papa got home and then the show started! she climbs on his lap and tells him she really really wants to eat chinese food HERE for dinner, take her shower here and spend the night and have grandma take her to school. she's 7 and she can work her papa! lol. papa sprung for dinner, put the lampshade on his head and talked chinese, japenese, and canadian with her for an hour. the rest of the lamp was tossed a year ago but the grands just love papa with it on his head and talking chinese. he is so funny.so i took her home with the promise she could sleep over this weekend. nene flew into my arms. i had taken her socks and they fit perfectly!!!! and she loved them. i know that because she didn't take them off in 2 seconds. she wanted to come home with me too. her mom is on spring break but i had been watching her and she misses me as much as i miss her. and she misses iggy. they are best friends and so cute together. if you aren't lucky enough to have any grandkids of your own, borrow one or a few. they are the absolute best. all you really need is a lap and an imagination

i suppose each of us can be of our own work. but is that a bad thing? i don't think so. i think ( don't you hate it when i do that) crocheting/knitting/crafting reflects life. not every day is so good that i want to do it over, but i still want to see what the next day has in store. not every item i make turns out the way i expect it to, yet i go on to another project, because i know some things turn out even better than i think they will and i think to myself WOW!!! i made that-i am crocheter!!!! and i am happy to wear it,carry it,gift it and feel good about it and me. i love that feeling. it's great. and to hear someone else oooohhh and aaaahhhh over it is even better. we all like to know we are good at something. appreciation, respect, envy, even jealousy of our work validates what we do and the time spent doing it............now all of this brings me to the tractor afghan i have been working on for 3 weeks. it's done and i don't like it. at all. not one thing about it.it's wider than i thought it would be ( and i swatched) the tractor is smaller than i thought it would be ( i thought the graph was kinda small) i couldn't get john deere green in a lighter weight yarn so i settled and it isn't right. it turned out more square than i thought so i added more rows,(and i swatched) now the tractor isn't centered--duh? so it's done. i will wash it, block it,give it away to the gal who requested it and be done with it. but i don't like it. i'm not proud of it, i'm not happy with it but........i hope she does. and i know amber will love it. it will be exactly what she wanted and i will get many hugs and thanks for it.but i will always know it wasn't my best work and i will always feel like i cheated her on a gift

i was thinking today ( i know, not a good thing) about blogs. mine and other peoples. blogging is frustrating, but fun. it's fun to read what others are up to, and to post what you are up to yourself. to leave little messages, to show off projects.............entertainment...............i like to be entertained. i like to laugh, i like to cry and on occasion, when i can, i like to help. it's good that to me crying isn't the end of the world because sometimes trying to add a link or a button can sure bring me close to tears.......lol............just ask norah. her link is in my sidebar. there is a way to put it here, but i don't know how-yet. i'll learn-someday. i know people read my blog, i'm not sure why, but someone is.someones are?
i wish if you read this........leave a comment........it's fine if you don't like it, if you think my pictures are blurry, if you're sick of looking at my grandbabies, if my projects are awful..............and it's fine if you do. if i make you smile, if i make something you like, if you just wanna say hi.........i would love to know who you are and what you think.

woohoo!!! i finished one sock. that is my foot in there for size comparison. does anyone know where i might have gotten this short needle? i can't remember where i got it. my camera has a mind of it's own when it comes to colors.......the lower right is the most accurate
oh my !! yes he does exist!!! i've always known but it has now been confirmed by fellow knitters and crocheters. never heard of him you say, well let me tell you a little about him. he is the one who throws yarn in your shopping basket when you just ran in for milk. he goes in your stash room and ties knots in the middle of skein after skein. he gets in your head and convinces you to start the perfect project with the perfect yarn, knowing all along you will be 1/2 skein short of finishing and the yarn has been discontinued. he puts a scent on yarn that no puppy or kitten can ignore. he hides your favorite hook in the couch cushions, and you never crochet on the couch. he coerces small children to talk to you during an involved stitch count. he forces you to stay up waaay past your bedtime to do "just one more row". do you get the idea? sometimes, when the house is quiet and you are all alone, you can hear his evil little laugh. there is nothing to be done to rid the world of this evil fairy. just beware fellow crafters, BEWARE!
