my current project

well i am feeling pretty good about the crochet olympics. i not only did the scary granny ripple but also finished a second baby ghan. the yahoo group has been the most fun i've had in a long time. the list is going to stay open with a monthly challenge format. i am so excited about it. i've learned a little more about blogging and html, altho i'm happy i have a knowledgeable teen in the house......lol......i started a cabled purse...pattern from Knitpics......the color is a bit dark to show the cables well and the yarn is crimpy.....but it is soft and the color is gorgeous. it's bernat breeze and a dark purply grape color. it will be a gift for a dear friend. i'll post a picture but you really can't see much

ummmm....jeff just brought me a pepperoni stix..is that true love or what? and it was good!!!! well i was turned down by people for people today (funding source for college) and as i am sipping my margarita on the rocks i am contemplating the state of the world. well at least my little corner of it. basically i was turned down because i'm not a felon, i'm not a druggy, i'm not an alcoholic (but i am in training), my husband doesn't beat me,i have a home, my I.Q. is over 80, i have had a job...in 4 words, i'm not a loser. .............hmmm do i sound a bit bitter? i guess i am a little. i was married for 20 years and my only job was raising foster kids ( i adopted 2). i've worked since then, and remarried, but just minimum wage jobs. i could do great at school but it doesn't look like i am going to get the chance to find out. i wouldn't trade my life for anything. i love jeff........he's the best man for me. in fact he is playing/singing/ playing his harmonicas to all my favorite songs. he is so good to and for me. my grandbabies are my world. all 8 of them. each one more precious than the next. and if spring EVER gets here i will be out in the flower beds. and i guess if i have to go back to being a bartender or waitress i will. my brother tells me i am a survivor so i better do what i need to so i don't disapoint him....lol. of course he refers to himself as a predator. i've been disappointed before so this too shall pass. but until then..........it's gonna be margarita time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gee i haven't posted in soooooooo long. this is my current olympic project. i finally got the first ghan washed today and it is blocking so i will have a picture of that in a day or two

WOOHOO!!! i finished my crochet olympic project. it needs to be washed and blocked , then i will post a pic of the finished blanket. i picked this project for a couple reasons.it was so pretty and so different that i just fell in love with it. knowing i had tried and failed many times with a ripple pattern really scared me tho. But this just went perfectly. i frogged part of one row at the beginning and the rest just worked !! i hope the parents to be like it as much as i do. since i finished so early i am starting another blanket. Good evening everyone, i got a little crocheting done today. not as much as i wanted but i'm plugging along. there are a couple new pictures under this. the color is a little off but it really does match......lol. i'm taking heather shopping sunday and i am going to try to find the joann's in yakima. i have a request for a pink and green john deere tractor baby afghan

HAPPY VALENTINE"S DAY to everyone!!!!
well it was a busy day today. ran valentine purses to the 3 granddaughters, babysat and ran errand after errand. i have managed to get 9/24 of my granny squares done for my olympic project. i may get done early but i have another baby ghan started so i will work on that. well the ice skaters are on and boy are they fantastic!!! i love to watch them skate. jeff is waiting for the bobsledders.......lol. enjoy the olympics no matter what is your favorite to watch

DAY #3...........well so far my project is coming along pretty good. i had quite a problem with a double wound skein of yarn but with constant stubborness and a few choice words...........i prevailed!!!!

Good morning everyone, yesterday was the official start of the olympics and i along with 133 fellow crochet-olympians got off to a good start!!! a few of us did a little frogging but better the first day than the last. i got the center granny square done on my blanket and am on the first row to switch to the ripple pattern.

WELL I WORKED THE LAST END IN AND I FINISHED ALL 15 OF THE BABY WASHCLOTHS.............*WIPING FOREHEAD* SHEW I AM GLAD THOSE ARE DONE.....
think the next project will be a sweater purse for a friend.....i just need to pick the colors

feb 3...............well another day..as they say..........i have 5 of 15 baby wash clothes done...........not sure i will ever finish at the rate i am going..lol..........heather is sick, kennedy is sick..........must be the season. i will be going to watch hannah get her awards at her brownie ceremony tonight..........i got her vest finished this morning.nothing like a last minute grandma. the ad for the puppies starts tomorrow...........as cute as they are i can't wait to see them gone.
